Well, i've installed a few days ago the Windows 10 version in my Compaq Presario V2000.It runs well for an ancient notebook, but after installed all the drivers (all of them worked for me, downloaded from HP site), at the bottom of the sreen, shows me that i have no audio devices installed, but i've already downloaded and installed Conxant'sproprer driver for this notebook and after that i've tried all the other drivers fot this notebook. All of them shows (FAILURE) after trying to intall. I did a refresh already, but not worked. When I start the troubleshooter, it tells me to reinstall the driver,and searchs for the driver and after that tells: High Definition Audio has a problem with the driver. Tried to activate by msconfig, not worked. In the device manager shows a exclamation point at my 'High Definition Audio Device' under games, controllers.tab.Thank you already.

After about 6 months of endlessly reading posts.with all answers either foolish (go to hp page.c'mon!)or flat out wrong. By experimenting myself, I finally able to get sound on my dv1000. The first thing you do is use the second hardware id from audio details in device manager (that was the last thing you listed.HDAUDIOFUNC01&VEN14F1&DEV5047&SUBSYS103C30A0.Copy it and go to and let the active x install.

Copy that ID into the search. You shouldget 4 downloads. Choose to download all.after they are done you can see 2 folders containing.cab files. Go to the folder with only one cab file and extract it to a folder with winrar.
